Boy, did you go fast!

Drift Republic’s Kickstarter project is a wrap! We have been humbled by the success of this project, and we cannot thank you enough for your support in this process. Without friends, family and backers like you we would never have made it to this point!

With the close of our Kickstarter project and the beginning of production upon us, we are hard at work making our backers the first ever, Idaho jeans. Stay tuned for more regular updates on Drift happenings through the process. It's going to be a crazy story and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.

Thank you for making the Drift project a reality; we can’t wait to be a part of your adventures!

Designed in Idaho - Made in Idaho

Hi, we’re Gabe & William

Together with you, we are the Drift Republic.

We make jeans. We believe in action and honesty. We are in love with adventure, craftsmanship and people who DO.

We were inspired to create Drift Republic through travel, camp fires, good friends, old jeeps, road trips, great books, stone architecture, ancient trees and many of the things between.

Explore the site to learn more about our jeans or follow our story. We don’t believe in a lot of words. Rather, we prefer doing, so you shouldn’t get too bored...

We love meeting new people, so feel free to drop us a note or follow on facebook etc.

Create. Be Legendary

Our design objective is to define a narrow range of products & design them to be the best in the world. Inspired by the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, “Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” We believe the primary function of design is to simplify. This tenet must be contrasted by the knowledge that an item's intended function determines its design. We are aiming at the point where function and design intersect. Significant personal testing has helped us reach this intersection, so we can give you the best possible quality.

We build each and every Drift-labeled piece in our shop, by-hand, in Idaho. Our materials and construction are part of and a product of our design process. As with our design goals, simplicity and function are paramount. We understand that fashions, brand names, and prices are elements to consider in a new pair of jeans, but the willful hands, the careful process, and the stories of the people who crafted them are important too. The fabric of your jeans is infused with this meaningful intention and dedication. The jeans we make by hand are not for somebody; they are for you. When you wear them, you are part of our family too.

We believe great products come from the intangible but ever-important story of the company/person building that product. Simply put, "happy employees make better products." On a deeper and more personal level, we feel better wearing jeans made by a company who provides their employees with: health care, retirement, outdoor-gear, flexible hours, and a full kitchen, and we only make that which we love and would buy ourselves. If our company's soul begins to fade, our culture and our story die too, and our business becomes a place we don’t want to work at, much less support.

We have a rather oversimplified understanding of business. We believe that if we build clothing of a superior quality that fit and function and look damn good, we will make sales. If, on top of that, we respect our clients, vendors and employees, participate in our community, communicate with honesty and present our story authentically, we believe we can not only build a sustainable business, exemplify good business practices to other companies.

William and I like real things; we like fresh food; we like human interaction. We don’t believe in polished, picture-perfect brands, a large marketing department, carefully structured campaign guidelines or legal mambo jumbo. We’re just two run-of-the-mill guys who love the outdoors, craftsmanship and working for ourselves. We believe we can create our own dream and live it, and we’ll share it with you. We make jeans in our garage; we have never sewn professionally before, our style sense has been questioned, we like to rock climb… We believe the best marketing is word-of-mouth and authenticity. Come on by, we would love to meet you!

The environment is a gift to us. It is imperative that we respect that gift. By using organic, sustainable and local materials wherever possible and making a lasting product, we are respecting the limited resources that are available. Ultimately, reducing the number of jeans that you will buy in your lifetime reduces the amount of energy consumed, materials wasted and pollution released.
